We are very flexible, and will do everything possible to accommodate your needs.
There are two primary ways that our clients hire us: By the Hour and By Project.
Not sure which method is best for you? Give us a call, and we can discuss this with you.
See info below for more info on hiring us by-the-hour. Our by-the-job page explains engaging us on a fixed-price project-basis (rather than by-the-hour), and our commercial work page explains how we accommodate the unique requirements of our commercial clients.
Many projects (or clients) are best suited to hiring us as hourly skilled labor.
Pricing is by the hour, for actual labor services performed, plus materials used on your behalf. This is also often referred to in the industry as “Time and Materials” contracting. Our rates vary, depending on the nature and quantity of the work being performed.
This is the easiest way to engage us: just give us a call to reserve some time on our work schedule (or use our request appointment online form)- and one of our Service Technicians will arrive on time, ready to work. You can tell us about the nature of your project when booking your service appointment- or just wait until your Technician arrives, and you can explain your project to him in person.
Hiring R&R Handyman by Project
This method is where you hire us to complete a project, with a defined scope of work, for a pre-agreed price.
The first step in our process, is to schedule an on site consultation. We’ll provide you with a written, no obligation estimate.
Note that for some small projects- we may be able to estimate a price for you over the phone, and you won’t even need to have us out for a site estimate.
Hiring contractors by project is best suited for well-scoped, and clearly defined projects. The more clearly defined your project scope- the more accurately we can provide a fixed price to complete it.
See our By-The-Hour page, for situations that may be best suited to hiring us by the hour.
Getting multiple bids?
A clearly defined project scope is particularly important. If you are comparing quotes from multiple contractors- be sure that you know what it is you are comparing. For example, if you don’t specify the types of materials- then a contractor may prepare their quote assuming use of the cheapest (and potentially sub-par quality) materials available. If you don’t clearly define the workscope- then a contractor may leave out certain tasks from their quote (like hauling away demolition debris, for example), and hit you with expensive change orders once the project is underway.
Here at R&R Handyman, we use high quality materials, and industry-accepted best practices, for all our projects. We back our workmanship with a 1 year warranty.
We understand that many of our commercial customers have unique needs and requirements, relative to our residential client base.
Here is a sampling of the types of things we’ve been doing for our current commercial customers:
We work with several NSP’s, servicing a range of different client locations; particularly in retail and restaurants. We understand that the service locations are your clients- and will do our best to represent you professionally. For NSP work, our service technicians are trained to:
We’ve worked with several companies that manage maintenance & repairs for REO properties (as well as directly for banks that own the REO’s). Our breadth of technical experience means that we may be the only company an REO asset manager needs to call, for property repairs, preservation, and rehab. We are particularly good at knocking out final punch lists for getting a property ready for sale.
When the volume is sufficient, we’ve even hired extra labor to support REO requirements, and have been able to provide deeply discounted service over our regular rates. Most of our residential work is done by our highly skilled handymen, who have deep and broad technical experience. However, if you have a high volume of REO work, we can assemble a crew of mixed skill levels, and deliver lower costs- while still keeping projects on track and on budget.
We also do a variety of work for customers’ offices. We do our best to minimize disruption to office operations. We protect our work areas, and ensure that we create minimum noise & dust. We clean up after ourselves (although some of our customers save a little money, by having their office cleaning services clean up behind us- so let us know if that is what you prefer). Some of the common work we do for offices:
